Task: Combine elements of Navigation, Passage Planning, Collision Regulations and General Seamanship into an interactive practice exercise. The final product is much longer and used to prepare for Transport Canada examinations. 

Skills: Full production of H5P interactive, video, narration, audio editing, video editing, storyboarding, scripting and consulting with SME.  

Task: Produce an interactive experience to replace in-person, skills-based yearly workshop for Skills Canada, during the COVID pandemic. This activity was meant to be more game/activity-like and was produced as an html5 interactive web activity. 

Skills: Full production of video, including analysis, scripting, storyboarding, filming, narration (in French and English), audio editing, video editing, vector editing, articulate programming and SME consultations. Tight deadline.

Task: Create a simulation that walks the user through the basic steps of using the Canadian Hydrographic Service's Chart Index. This was followed by a self-guided activity to complete a task independently. This is a video capture of the html5 activity.

Skills: Articulate programming, analysis, storyboarding, photo editing, screen capturing, SME consultations. 

Embedded Twine Activity example

Task: Create a simulation that incorporates empathy and change management into a ship management role. 

Twine was used for this activity. It incorporated branching paths and variables with resulting feedback. After a couple iterations, the SME was very pleased with the result. It was so well received by the participanparticipantsts that the first cohort was brought in to further refine other branching activities.

Embedded H5P Activity example

Task: With the provided Excel workbook, create an activity that walks the participants through the steps and skills required to complete a full ship's provisioning. 

An H5P interactive book was incorporated into the course for this exercise.  An initial meeting with the SME provided background on the activity. The ID asked for a brief "backstory" to accompany the learning. It was expanded into a completed Interactive Book.
